ABOUT ME

Hi there! Welcome to my hub!

I am Yza, usually called by my friends as wyza (thus, the title of this blog ^_^). I graduated from the University of the Philippines Los Baños with the degree BS Development Communication. I took my major in Educational Communication (aka Educational Technology) and learned the basics in graphics design, visual aids and materials production, documentary and other video production skills.

I have been working in the publishing industry here in the Philippines for the past 10 years and during those eight years in the industry, I realized my passion is in the education sector — helping people learn, creating learning materials and designing learning experiences.

People mistake me for an extrovert, for I am always game at meeting new people. In reality, I’m an ambivert. I can go with the flow and socialize to an extent, but at the end of the day, I just wanna chill and read a book, or watch a movie. I love to learn anything, but my mind focuses only on feel-good things. I like to go to places and learn about their culture. Sometimes, I write about it, sometimes I don’t. But one thing is for sure — I take a good deal of photos and keep it with me. My ultimate bucket list is to travel around the Philippines, and write my experience about it.

I also like nature, so hiking and camping are my favourites. I love to swim, so if you’ll invite me for camping trips with a sidetrip to the waterfalls, definitely count me in. I rarely talk to people, but when you hear me share endlessly about my stories, consider yourself one of my trusted few.

Lastly, I am a Born-again Christian. Twelve (12) years ago, when my life was chaotic and I was a mess, I met Jesus and experienced His unconditional love for me. I believe in the Bible and since then, I try to apply what I’ve learned about it. When I was just new in faith, I remember writing poems and psalms about my experience. I wanna relive the experience so I’ve put up this blog ten (10) years ago. I’ve learned about life so now, I am using this online space to document and inspire others by what I learn along the way.

I think this is the most personal introduction I’ve written about myself. You may read about both the positive and negative things that happened to me, and we may disagree about certain things I’ve written. I hope you still give me a second thought and give me the benefit of the doubt. If you’re still getting uncomfortable, feel free to unfollow me and I won’t hold it against you.

So there. I hope you enjoyed reading and feel free to browse to your own heart’s content. 🙂

  1. Hi Wyza,
I’m from Agoo, La Union and I’m into health stuffs. I read your article about virgin coconut oil in Maganda Filipino. Can you give me some good Philippine brands of it and where to buy them?
    Thank you and God bless,
    Kuya Vic

  2. Dear Yza,
I’m K&L, the Founder & CEO of the Millionaire’s Digest Magazine, and I recently received your application requesting to become a writer for our magazine, and so this is just a letter from me to you to let you know that I have completely looked over it and have accepted you as a writer for our Blogging, Education, Family & Life, Games, Religion, and Writing Magazine!
Now what happens next is that there really is nothing that happens next. Another words, there is no invitation that you have to go and check to confirm. This is just my letter as the CEO, to let you know that you have been accepted onto our magazine team!
The only thing that changes now is that at the beginning of every month (usually on the first day), you will receive our Millionaire’s Digest magazine invitation, which will include the following:
-Which magazine edition we are coming out with next.
-Who the magazine is for. (Which writers is it for.)
    -How to submit you articles.
-Where to go to submit your articles.
-When the last day is to turn in your articles.
-How long your articles need to be.
-And everything else that you will have questions for!
Other than that, if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome to ask me, and I will kindly do my best to help get them answered for you!
Have a nice rest of the day and thank you!
    Sincerely,
    K&L
Millionaire’s Digest Magazine Founder & CEO

  3. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?

    • Hey Markus, thanks for the comment. Was actually planning to do that and revise the layout, just became busy these past few days. 🙂
